Senior Project Buyer for Development Projects (m/f/d)

Your tasks

• Interface function between the procurement of production materials and the interdisciplinary development teams of the respective business unit
• Representing the purchasing perspective in development projects including critical questioning of technical specifications
• Ensuring the systematic and early involvement of purchasing in all phases of the product development process
• Considering all purchasing concerns in the projects, especially when selecting suitable suppliers according to the respective category strategies
• Ensuring product cost reduction and target achievement over the entire product lifecycle including identification of measures and their implementation or tracking
• Cross-site coordination of supply chain aspects in the ramp-up and phase-out control of products
• Preparation and execution of make-or-buy decisions as well as tenders and awards for new components according to the respective category strategies
• Analysis and coordination of the optimisation of supply chain resilience
• Data analysis and reporting, use of analytical tools and preparation of reports for decision-making and performance monitoring
• Maintenance of master data as well as coordination of initial sampling for new components
• Support of supplier qualification for new suppliers

What we are looking for

• Successfully completed degree in engineering or industrial engineering
• At least 7 years of professional experience in international, technical product procurement or in the development sector in mechanical/plant engineering, medical or automotive environment
• Experience in project management and working in matrix structures
• Knowledge of various manufacturing processes, preferably in the categories of electrical engineering, electronics, drive technology, machining and surface coating, as well as mechanics
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Conceptual thinking
• Negotiation skills, ability to conduct contract negotiations and achieve optimal conditions with suppliers
• Very good communication skills, confident and assured manner, reliability and assertiveness
• Independent and structured working style, a high degree of initiative as well as teamwork are prerequisites
• Very good German and English skills
• Willingness to travel (approx. 10%)
• Very good MS Office and SAP (R/3 or S4 HANA) knowledge
