Plant Operator in Shift Work 80-100% | Thun

About the job

Do you fancy literally monitoring "hot" plants in a reliable team while shaping the energy future at the same time? Then you are exactly right with us! We turn waste into sustainable energy – not with magic, but with state-of-the-art technology and everyday heroes.

AVAG Umwelt AG is the regionally leading disposal, recycling and energy company for around 130 municipalities and their populations as well as numerous commercial and industrial customers. With our commitment, we make an important contribution to closing numerous material cycles, the energy transition in the region, and the careful handling of the environment – in short: we make tomorrow out of yesterday.

Your field of activity

• Superheroes always keep an eye on the situation – that’s what you do too, so the region doesn’t run out of "Pfuus". It gets particularly exciting when things don’t go as they should. Then your cool head and hands-on approach are needed!
• You are responsible for the waste incineration plant, the wood-fired power station and the district heating network and control these plants with a state-of-the-art process control system (don’t worry, we’ll show you how it works).
• You are the mastermind behind the furnace and boiler system, heat and power production as well as flue gas and residue treatment.
• Malfunctions and process deviations? No problem! You recognise them immediately, analyse the situation and find solutions in no time.
• During repair, maintenance and cleaning work, you lend a hand – of course, superheroes don’t just sit at desks (although our top-modern control room is very cosy).

Your profile

• You have training in the mechanical or electrical field, ideally with additional training as a heating plant operator or the willingness to complete this with us.
• You are sharp, combined with the willingness to take responsibility and get stuck in.
• You are good at working independently, but you are also unbeatable in a team.
• You also like to be on duty when others are asleep – obviously, or do you know superheroes who only work office hours?
