The Geneva Foundation for Sociocultural Animation is a partner institution, funded by the Canton and municipalities, whose mission is to promote and maintain social cohesion in the canton of Geneva, that is to ensure the quality of the relationship between individuals and society. Through socio-educational, sociocultural and associative field actions carried out by centres and outreach teams, the Foundation meets the population's needs in terms of meeting, exchange, solidarity, citizenship, quality of life, with the general aim of preventing social exclusion.
To complete our team, we are looking for a games librarian at 25.21% for the Pâquis-Sécheron Games Library in Geneva from 1 March 2027. This position will evolve to reach 50% on 1 August 2027.
Job Description
- Contribute to the activities of the games library, notably in the following areas:
- Welcoming users and lending games;
- Creating and arranging themed spaces;
- Organising events at the games library and outside, such as games library parties, game evenings, neighbourhood festivals, outdoor afternoons and family play activities;
- Researching, managing, handling and filing games and toys;
- Managing the social media and website of the games library;
- Designing, organising and proposing playful activities linked to the neighbourhood and other reception structures, to promote animation and conviviality.
Qualifications
- Training for Leisure Activity Supervision Functions (FFETL - CEFOC): module 1 of this training is required, CFC ASE or any training deemed equivalent
- Marked creativity and strong manual skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills with all generations, a passion for games and the desire to pass it on to others.
- At least 5 years’ experience in the social and/or associative field
- Successful experience in teamwork
- Volunteer games librarian experience would be an asset
- Good knowledge of the social system and associative network in Geneva
- A keen sense of social and human relations, as well as a strong taste for collaborative work with various partners
- Ability to integrate into a dynamic team of 6 people
- Good knowledge of basic IT/office tools
- French is the working language; a good command is essential
Additional Information
- The position requires some flexibility and availability to participate in specific events outside usual hours
- Work on Tuesday from 1:30 pm to 6:45 pm, Wednesday from 2:00 pm to 5:45 pm, and an average of one Saturday morning per month from 9:00 am to 12:15 pm.
- The position will evolve to 50% from 1 August 2027
- Salary according to the Geneva State pay scale: maximum class 8
- Start date: 1 March 2027
