A credit of 1.5 million for the redevelopment of two town centre streets
By way of advance notice, the Municipality of Aigle is requesting a credit of 1.56 million for the redevelopment of Rue du Rhône and Rue du Midi. The works are expected to take place from April 2024 to March 2025.
The redevelopment of Rue du Rhône and Rue du Midi is part of the strategy to revitalise Aigle town centre and realises the objectives defined during the planning approved by the Municipal Council, whether it be the Municipal Master Plan, the Public Space Master Plan, or the Cycling Master Plan. This redevelopment incorporates measures to combat urban heat islands in the context of climate change and rebalances the relationship between soft mobility (pedestrians, cyclists) and motorised individual transport on streets designated as priority pedestrian routes.
The credit request of 1.56 million includes
The entirety of this redevelopment of two arteries in the strategic "town centre" district complies with the measures planned in the 3rd and 4th generation Chablais Agglo projects (PA3 and PA4). As such, these works, which are included in the Municipality's 2024-2028 investment plan, will benefit from co-financing amounting to CHF 300,000.-
