About the job
Generations in the Classroom
"We just needed you…"
Thurgau schools and Pro Senectute Thurgau are looking for senior citizens:
- For a trusting coexistence
- To achieve great things for the little ones
- With mind, heart and a pinch of madness
Would you like to volunteer in a cheerful, lively environment?
Volunteer senior citizens engage in diverse assignments for generations in the classroom. The assignments focus on dialogue between generations and offer senior citizens a meaningful volunteer commitment as well as personal development.
What should volunteers bring with them?
An assignment in the classroom is open to all people aged 60 and over, regardless of their professional background. Important are the joy of working with children and young people, the willingness to embrace new experiences and situations, as well as a tolerant attitude, patience and humour. Pedagogical expertise is not required.
Of course, we will clarify the needs and fields of activity together. We also always have an open ear for you during your assignment. A mutual, trusting relationship between you, the teacher and the children forms the basis for this collaboration.
Specific assignments:
School community Diessenhofen; Kindergarten Schlatt: Assignments Monday, Thursday and Friday – each from 10:00 to 12:00 (at least two half days)
School community Kemmental; Hugelshofen: 4th - 6th grade; Accompanying and supporting pupils, garden and forest accompaniment
School community Kemmental; Neuwilen: 3rd - 6th grade; Forest accompaniment, playing and craft support
