About the job
Concordat for the training of pastors of the Reformed Churches in German-speaking Switzerland
80%
The A+W office (Training and Continuing Education of Reformed Pastors) is responsible on behalf of the German-speaking Swiss Concordat Churches for church training as well as continuing education in the first years of office. It is also tasked with promoting young talent.
You will take on a central role in shaping and implementing church training. Your area of responsibility includes, in particular, the management of the learning vicariate as well as continuing education in the first years of office.
Your tasks
You actively work in the A+W team and participate in the further development of church training within the Concordat. This includes contributing to strategic issues, implementing new training elements, and handling assignments from management. A focus of your work lies in managing the learning vicariate. In this context, you design the vicariate year based on the training regulations, plan and are responsible for the individual training elements, and work closely with external specialists. You organise and lead seminar weeks and course days, accompany the learners during the training year, and conduct discussions on learning contracts and portfolios. You maintain close contact with vicariate supervisors, provide them with professional support, and especially accompany them in challenging situations. In addition, you conduct interviews with candidates before they enter the learning vicariate and participate in training sessions as well as in exchanges with the examination board. Furthermore, you are responsible for continuing education in the first years of office (WeA). You develop the annual programme in coordination with the responsible partner offices and bear editorial responsibility for announcements and communication. You advise pastors in their first years of office, ensure suitable coaching offers, and organise course offerings. Your work is guided by the competence structure model, which systematically describes the development of key professional competencies such as reflective ability, relationship building, leadership, and communication.
Your profile
You have a theological education as well as extensive experience in pastoral ministry and bring proven skills in training and continuing education. Ideally, you have experience in accompanying learning processes, designing educational offerings, and working with groups. You work in a structured, responsible manner and are conceptually strong. At the same time, you bring pronounced communication skills, advisory competence, and a high degree of social sensitivity. You are resilient, capable of handling conflict, and know how to professionally support different stakeholder groups. Your interest in church development, your ability to collaborate in interprofessional contexts, and your willingness to take responsibility in a complex system distinguish you.
