Company Description
The Geneva Foundation for Sociocultural Animation is a partner institution, funded by the Canton and municipalities, whose mission is to promote and maintain social cohesion in the canton of Geneva, that is to ensure the quality of the relationship between individuals and society. Through socio-educational, sociocultural and associative field actions carried out by centres and outreach teams, the Foundation meets the population's needs in terms of meeting, exchange, solidarity, citizenship, quality of life, with the general aim of preventing social exclusion.
A position of sociocultural animator with a team leader mandate at 100% is open within the TSHM Carouge team.
Job Description
- Ensure responsibility and coordination of the Carouge outreach social work team.
- Manage organisational, budgetary and administrative aspects related to activities, in line with the objectives defined by the Steering Group.
- Support the team’s reflection, guarantee the coherence of interventions and ensure the concrete implementation of objectives.
- Conduct prevention, proximity and mediation actions with young people who are socially disconnected or seeking integration, notably through: street rounds, individual follow-ups, socio-professional integration internships.
- Ensure responsibility and operational management of two community-type intervention approaches:
- in the Tours de Carouge neighbourhood (in connection with the Carouge City Real Estate Foundation),
- in the Auréa neighbourhood (in connection with the HBM Emma Kammacher Foundation).
- Contribute to the development of collective actions based on observed social issues, in collaboration with the Carouge neighbourhood centre, local social structures and municipal authorities.
- Promote smooth and quality internal communication with the FASe General Secretariat services and municipal partners.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in social action, community work and outreach social work.
- Strong interest and proven skills in working with adolescents and young adults.
- Successful experience in team management.
- Good financial and administrative management skills.
- Strong skills in organisation, planning and priority management.
- Good command of project management.
- Ease in varied and evolving work environments.
- Ability to communicate on youth-related issues and interact with various stakeholders: residents, social services, police, schools, etc.
- Strong writing skills and proficiency in common IT tools;
- Capacity and willingness to work in a network with local and cantonal social actors.
- Good knowledge of the Geneva social network.
- Ability to work independently while respecting the institutional framework.
- Initiative, creativity, listening skills and sense of responsibility.
Additional Information
- Additional training in team management is an asset.
- Flexible and irregular hours (evenings and weekends).
- Salary according to the Geneva State pay scale (maximum class 16).
- Driving licence desired.
- Start date: 1st September 2026.
