Position: Partner & Head of Litigation
Location: Zurich
Workload: 100% full-time
Objective
The Partner & Head of Litigation is responsible for leading the dispute resolution and litigation department of the firm and provides national and international clients with strategic advice and high-level representation in complex commercial, civil, and regulatory disputes.
Responsibilities
- Development and implementation of litigation strategies tailored to the economic, regulatory, and reputational goals of the client
- Management and oversight of complex civil and commercial litigation, including cross-border disputes and high-profile lawsuits
- Representation of clients in a variety of disputes, including
- Civil and commercial disputes, including contract enforcement and shareholder disputes
- Capital market disputes, including prospectus liability, securities fraud, and investor disputes
- Banking and stock exchange disputes, including regulatory enforcement and transaction disputes
- Regulatory and compliance-related disputes with Swiss and international authorities
- Contract disputes related to breaches of obligations, warranties, and indemnities
- Arbitration and mediation proceedings domestically and internationally
- Representation of clients before Swiss courts, international arbitration tribunals, and regulatory authorities
- Leadership and further development of the firm's litigation and dispute resolution practice
- Maintaining and expanding long-term client relationships through high-quality services and proactive engagement
- Development of business development strategies, contribution to thought leadership (e.g., through articles, webinars, events), and representing the firm at industry conferences
- Mentoring and coaching junior lawyers and associates, promoting professional development and knowledge sharing
- Ensuring compliance with internal quality standards, billing targets, and operational goals
Requirements
Education
- Swiss bar admission and top-tier qualification
- Outstanding academic performance in law (Master's degree / PhD)
- Additional studies in commercial law or financial law
Professional experience
- At least 10 years of proven professional experience as a lawyer, preferably in a partner role in a law firm, an auditing firm, or in a senior position in the legal department of a bank or asset management company
Languages
- Fluent in spoken and written English and German
- Additional languages (e.g., French, Italian) are an advantage.
