Ampegon Power Electronics AGAmpegon Power Electronics AG is looking for a skilled System Engineer specialized in power electronics to support the development of customized high-voltage and high-current solutions. Working closely with customers and the sales team, this role is involved throughout the entire project lifecycle—from requirements definition and simulation to system engineering and commissioning—providing advanced technical expertise in complex, innovative, and international environments.
Main Responsabilities
- Determining requirements for customised power electronics solutions in cooperation with customers for modulated or pulsed high-voltage/high-current supplies up to 10MW DC
- Develops customised technical solutions and concepts in the quotation phase using appropriate state of the art simulation tools (Matlab Simulink, PLECS)
- Alongside the sales team, supports customer and business partner relations for technical questions
- Support the Bid Manager in the preparation of cost calculations for technical solutions
- Preparation of Scope of Supply and Technical Description
- Undertaking system engineering and development tasks from concept to commissioning
- Occasional attendance at technical conferences
- International customer visits to support the sales team as required
- Maintain good knowledge of inverter and converter technology design concepts based on IGBT, MOSFET or SiC devices, relevant components, subsystem functions and possible suppliers
Requirements:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar
- Profound knowledge of power electronics as well as proven experience with the designated tools and semiconductor elements
- Experienced with the simulation of power electronics circuits and with implementing designs
- Experience with high voltage designs is a strong plus
- Hands on experience in testing of power electronics
- Experience with Matlab Simulink, PLECS (Creo and E3. series are plus)
- Strong written and spoken language skills in German and English
