The Filmcoopi Zürich is an independent Swiss film distributor based in Zurich. The owner-managed company releases 30 national and international films per year in Swiss cinemas, on streaming platforms, and on TV.
To support our team, we are looking for a proactive individual for the position of:
Financial Accountant 80-100 %
Your Responsibilities
In this versatile and demanding role, you will report directly to the management and independently handle the following tasks:
Financial Accounting
- Planning and processing of all payment transactions domestically and abroad, as well as monitoring all account movements including foreign currency accounts
- Settlement of cash registers, credit cards, PayPal, expense payments, VAT returns, withholding tax refunds
- Execution of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, preparation of documents for audits
- Budget entries for films and the annual budget
- Preparation of board of directors' reports
- Contact person for authorities (tax office, pension fund, etc.)
- Management of the small accounting of a subsidiary company
Accounts Payable
- Verification and processing of supplier invoices as well as digital filing
- Account assignment and booking of incoming invoices
- Monitoring payment deadlines and executing payments
- Settlements of films with licensors
Accounts Receivable
- Integration of accounts receivable, dunning and debt collection
- Reconciliation of debtor accounts
- Subsidy management: settlements, control of receipts
Payroll Accounting
- Monthly salary payments
- All social security contributions including registration, sick notifications and changes, correct remittance
- Preparation of salary certificates and payslips
- Verification of working hours and holiday balances
- Processing and payment of expenses
- Support with labour law questions (e.g. holidays, illness, parental leave)
Human Resources / HR
- Personnel strategy: support to management on strategic HR topics
- Personnel administration: maintenance of personnel files and master data, coordination of entries and exits
- Personnel development: planning and organisation of internal events, gifts
- Recruitment: support with job postings, preparation of employment contracts, contract amendments, references
- Communication: contact person for employees on HR matters
Your Profile
For this varied role, we expect from you:
- Completed training or further education in accounting and 3-4 years of professional experience in a similar, independent position
- Experience in human resources and personnel administration
- Very good knowledge of financial and accounting applications, payroll accounting as well as time and performance recording, preferably with Abacus software
- Very good user skills in MS Office, especially Excel
- Fluent in German, French and English is an advantage
- Affinity for culture and film
- Resilient, team-oriented, flexible, reliable and independent personality
