About the job
Large battery storage systems are an important building block of the energy future. In this key role, you and your team ensure the technological competence of the BU BESS and ensure that our systems meet technical requirements, are operated safely, and are economically optimised.
Your area of responsibility
- You build up the In-House Engineering organisationally and methodically, lead your team, and create clear roles, processes, methods, and decision-making paths
- You develop the employees professionally and methodically and establish the necessary BESS competence for independent technical assessment
- With Employer's Requirements and Standards, you define the requirements for general planners, EPC contractors, and suppliers and establish effective reviews and verification processes for our new construction projects
- You shape the operational preparation, establish operational KPIs, and create structures for systematic analysis of plant performance
- Together with the energy industry, you develop methods for techno-economic optimisation of performance, degradation, and production costs
- You establish the technical as well as cyber-/OT security governance in collaboration with Group Security and ensure that experiences are systematically incorporated into standards and requirements
Your expertise
- You have a university degree in electrical engineering FH/ETH or a comparable qualification and bring experience with complex energy systems and technical tenders
- Sound (BESS) competence enables you to independently assess external technical solutions and verify their implementation
- You bring leadership experience and enjoy building a new unit, developing employees, and effectively delegating responsibility
- With a conceptual mindset, you create pragmatic methods, processes, and structures that provide orientation for your team and enable reliable decisions – you combine technical understanding with business perspectives and move confidently between technology, project, EPC, and operation
