The network of the Swiss Youth Hostels Association consists of 43 own and 7 partner youth hostels, ranging from romantic castles to urban design establishments to wellness hostels. The non-profit organisation achieves around 820,000 overnight stays annually. The focus is on quality-conscious, sustainable, and affordable youth and family tourism. Your tasks

In this multifaceted role, you are responsible for the operational management of the establishment, according to the sustainable and social principles of Swiss Youth Hostels. The St. Gallen youth hostel with 87 beds, spread over double and multi-bed rooms, is located high above the roofs of the Gallus city. The family-friendly house has a reception, lobby, dining room for half-board guests, and a large outdoor area. Your main tasks include optimising the occupancy of the house, guest care and communication, bookkeeping and cash management including compliance with the internal control system, and the leadership and planning of around five employees.

Your profile

You have several years of experience in the hotel/restaurant industry and can demonstrate appropriate training. With full commitment, you are an entrepreneur and host, love contact with guests, and are a communicative person. Your area of expertise is either the kitchen or administration, and your leadership style is situational with a natural assertiveness. Challenges and your high quality standards motivate you daily to perform at your best. You are an organisational talent, have a flair for numbers, and administrative tasks are no problem for you. You support your team by pitching in yourself and assisting them with advice and action. Besides good German, you speak at least one other language.
