About the job

"Dining with the Stars" combines a dinner on the Gornergrat with a journey into the starry sky. As a guide, you will lead the evening during the season from January to March 2027: You will give an approximately 20-minute presentation and then go outside with the guests in three small groups to show and explain specific constellations. You ensure a smooth flow and are available to guests for questions throughout the evening.

Your area of responsibility

Moderation and guidance throughout the entire evening
Presentation (approx. 20 minutes) on the topic of the starry sky/astronomy, in German
Subsequent guidance of three groups outside with specific demonstration of constellations
Answering guest questions, also in English
Ensuring a coherent schedule in cooperation with the on-site catering/event team

Your profile

Very good presentation and moderation skills
Basic knowledge of astronomy/constellations
Good English and good French
German as the presentation language
Confident appearance in front of groups, also in wintry outdoor conditions on the Gornergrat

Conditions

Place of work: Gornergrat
Assignments: 4–6 events per season (January–March), shared between two guides
Professional support: An astronomer from the University of Bern accompanies the evenings and shows the starry sky live with Stellarium
Compensation: Flat rate per evening, including expenses
Zermatt-Gornergrat ticket included for the duration of the season (January–March)
