Management Consultant (Mechanical / Electrical Engineering Background)

Introduction

CYLAD Experts AG is looking for a Management Consultant with a background in mechanical or electrical engineering and strong AI skills to join our team in Pfäffikon SZ. In this role, you will combine your technical expertise with business acumen to help leading companies solve complex strategic, operational and technology-related challenges. Working closely with experienced consultants and client teams, you will bridge the gap between engineering and management, turning technical insight into business impact.

You will contribute to projects that create measurable results, build trusted client relationships, and gain broad exposure to industrial and technology-driven business environments.

Responsibilities

• Support the development and implementation of strategic, operational and organisational solutions, with a particular focus on technical and industrial topics.
• Analyse technologies, products, processes and value chains, and assess their business implications for clients.
• Conduct market, competitor and company analyses using qualitative and quantitative methods.
• Leverage AI tools to increase the speed and quality of analyses and deliverables, and help clients identify, evaluate and implement AI use cases.
• Structure complex technical and business problems and translate findings into clear, actionable recommendations for senior management.
• Develop business cases, financial analyses, presentations and other client deliverables.
• Act as an interface between client engineering teams and management, facilitating workshops and client meetings.
• Manage workstreams independently while ensuring high standards of quality and accuracy.
• Contribute to the growth of CYLAD Experts AG through knowledge sharing, methodology development and business development activities.

Qualifications

• Excellent university degree (MSc or equivalent) in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or a closely related engineering discipline; a PhD or an additional business qualification is a plus.
• Previous experience in management consulting is strongly preferred; candidates with experience in strategy, corporate development, R&D or technical project management in industry are also encouraged to apply.
• Solid understanding of industrial, technical or engineering-driven business environments.
• Strong AI skills, including hands-on experience with generative AI tools for research, analysis and productivity; knowledge of data analytics, machine learning or AI applications in industrial settings is a plus.
• Strong analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills, with the ability to combine technical depth and business thinking.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, including the ability to explain complex technical topics to non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work effectively in international and multidisciplinary teams.
• High motivation and drive, with a proactive, entrepreneurial mindset, a strong sense of ownership and a high level of commitment and flexibility.
• Fluency in German and English, both written and spoken; knowledge of French and/or Italian is a plus.
• Willingness to travel within Switzerland and internationally, depending on project requirements.
• Residence in the Zurich area or within reasonable daily commuting distance of our office in Pfäffikon SZ.
• A valid Swiss work permit (or Swiss citizenship) is required. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer visa sponsorship or relocation support.
