The cantonal social office fulfills the task of personal social and addiction assistance on behalf of the municipalities and supports people in accessing economic social assistance. To do this, it operates eight regional social services in the canton’s regions.

The regional social service Central Grisons is responsible for 25 municipalities with a catchment area of 23,000 people.
Due to an upcoming retirement, we are looking for a head to lead the regional social service Central Grisons in Thusis from February 1, 2026 or by agreement. Co-leadership is possible. An orderly handover is ensured.
Your area of responsibility
- Leading a team of around ten employees
- Supporting employees in complex counseling situations
- Collaboration and networking with social authorities (municipalities) and specialist offices
- Participating in cross-social service professional exchanges and shaping a uniform practice across all eight locations
- Solution- and resource-oriented social counseling of individuals and families
- Accessing social insurance benefits as well as economic social assistance
- Counseling recognized and provisionally admitted refugees and foreigners on linguistic, professional, and social integration
- Counseling persons with protection status S in individual accommodations as well as assessing and ordering financial support services
- Other diverse, interesting, and responsible tasks
What we expect from you
- Completed training as a social worker BSc/FH or a degree in a comparable field
- Leadership experience, high social and counseling competence, and expertise in social assistance law and social insurance
- Enjoy working with people from different social and/or cultural backgrounds
- Outgoing, resilient, team player, good communication, organizational, and administrative skills
- Ideally good foreign language skills
- Independent and solution-oriented working style
