What to expect

• You are jointly responsible with the team for the stable operation, engineering, and further development of our Oracle and PostgreSQL database platform both in daily business and in projects and releases.
• You work on the further development of our database and data warehouse platforms, the migration from Oracle to PostgreSQL, and the expansion of our database platforms in the Azure Cloud.
• You support the team in automation, performance analysis, scripting, monitoring, and logging.
• Infrastructure as Code is an integral part of our working method: you actively develop our automation and infrastructure standards further. Together we drive topics such as declarative infrastructure, versioned changes, and reproducible deployments forward – using tools like Ansible, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines.
• You support the further development of our Data Warehouse with GoldenGate and DataHub and contribute to further automating manual processes.
• Exchange and development are important to us: you regularly have the opportunity to attend user groups and vendor events.
• You will be part of a strong team: 3 other DBAs and 8 Linux engineers work together with close technical exchange and short decision-making paths.
• We speak Swiss German dialect & German and are in the Lucerne office at least 3 days a week.
• You work in a self-organised environment with plenty of scope for design, flexibility, personal responsibility, and trust.

What you bring

• Several years of experience in the operation and engineering of Oracle or PostgreSQL databases.
• Enthusiasm for modern platform and cloud technologies.
• Experience in automation (e.g. Bash, Python, Ansible) and enjoyment in sustainably improving things.
• A structured, responsible working style, quick comprehension, and a high standard of quality.
• Analytical thinking, conceptual strength, and a solution-oriented approach.
• IT education or comparable professional experience.
• Very good German skills (company language) as well as the ability to confidently understand English documentation.

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, and declarative systems.
• Automation with Ansible Automation Platform, GitHub Actions, or Chef.
• Infrastructure provisioning with Terraform (On-Prem & Azure).
