The Sales-Marketing & Guest Relations Manager manages the interface between the market and the hotel, between existing and potential guests as well as the front office and back office.
This is a central hub that promotes the hotel’s infrastructure along with its service offerings in global markets, acquires customers, and retains them through constant offers to the hotel. The position holder seeks contact with guests in the hotel and senses the pulse of satisfaction of the present customers.
Equally important as marketing the infrastructure is maintaining an ambiance in the hotel that offers and ensures the guest a second home during their stay.

Talented communicator, familiar with various cultures and behaviors in tourism and seminar industries.
The Sales-Marketing Manager is characterized by curiosity and sociability. He passionately explores the happenings in relevant markets, knows the developments and needs of potential customers, and is an important discussion partner for management in developing marketing strategies.
The Sales and Marketing Manager is highly motivated and knows how to inspire employees for the ambitious goals in service of the only 4-star hotel on the Lungolago di Lugano.
The Sales-Marketing Manager is in constant contact with management, front office, and back office and sees himself as an integrator of all departments into the needs of the market and the hotel’s marketing tools. He is the opposite of a lone fighter and is guided by a holistic view of hotel operations.
Tasks
Market research in all relevant markets
Maintaining contacts with existing customers & establishing contacts with potential new customers
Development and marketing of new offers and packages
Management of electronic platforms including own homepage
Monitoring pricing policy in close coordination with management
Monitoring and further development of electronic booking platforms
Development of promotional campaigns worldwide;
Close coordination of all marketing activities with management, back and front office, F&B, and housekeeping
Creating an ambiance within the house in the sense of AAA (Apertura, Allegria, Ambiente)
Independent management of correspondence in Italian, German & English with customers, responding to inquiries from individual guests, companies, travel agencies
Maintaining contacts with Best Western International
Requirements
Strong market-oriented thinking and understanding customer needs
Understanding of the functioning of tourism markets and platforms
Experience in revenue and channel management
Good understanding of electronic systems, especially data processing systems for customer management
Ability to think holistically and always oversee all aspects, opportunities & problems of an operation
Very good oral and written communication skills
Flexibility in communication, diplomacy in negotiations with business and private customers
Team player, no lone wolf mentality
Intrapreneurship mindset
Languages
Very good written and spoken knowledge of Italian, German, & English, good knowledge of French, additional language skills are an advantage.
