Headteacher 100%The Kantonsschule Uetikon am See (KUE) was founded in 2018. It offers a lower secondary gymnasium and currently five of the Zurich Matura profiles (classical languages, mathematical-natural sciences, modern languages, economic-law, and philosophical-pedagogical-psychological). The number of pupils currently stands at around 800, with 120 teachers and administrative staff. The location and character of the school are unique: The modern premises at the provisional site in the heart of the community enable forward-looking and innovative teaching methods and inspire the "KUE spirit". In about six years, KUE will move into its new premises on the site of the former chemical factory directly on Lake Zurich and take another significant step in growth.
Due to the upcoming retirement of our headteacher, we are seeking a successor as Headteacher starting from the 2028/29 school year.
Your responsibilities
As Headteacher, you bear overall responsibility for the educational, personnel, financial, and administrative management of the school. You lead the school management team, which consists of the deputy headteachers and the assistant head. Together, you will drive the expansion of the school and shape it with your innovative spirit. You are responsible for implementing the forthcoming development of the secondary school and the relocation to the new site on Lake Zurich. In doing so, you will continue the vibrant school culture in which both teachers and pupils can develop to their fullest potential. You maintain daily contact with the young people and take on the leadership of the teaching staff and administrative employees.
Your profile
As the future Headteacher, you have relevant leadership experience and excellent leadership qualities. You are very familiar with the Swiss gymnasium system from your own school management or teaching experience and understand the framework conditions and challenges of the Zurich education system. High-quality teaching is close to your heart, as is an inclusive and respectful approach to all stakeholders of the school. You are resilient, a team player, communicative, innovative, and highly motivated to lead and shape the school of the future with passion and exceptional commitment.
Formal requirements include a completed university degree, a teaching diploma for Matura schools, several years of teaching experience, and leadership experience at a cantonal school.
