Assistant (m/f/d) - Sustainability and Ethics in Teaching Project
10%-30%, Zurich, fixed-term
The Strategy and Analytics team supports the systematic integration of sustainability and ethics in teaching and learning. The goal is to empower students to competently address global challenges such as climate change, resource justice, and ethical decision-making and to act as "Change Agents for a Better Tomorrow." Our team works proactively, strategically, and data-driven to make education at ETH Zurich future-proof.
As an assistant, you will contribute to the systematic anchoring of sustainability and ethics in teaching and learning at ETH Zurich through organizational and content support.
Job description
You will support a project promoting sustainability and ethics in teaching with the following focuses:
- Participation in interviews with members of the ETH community (e.g., lecturers, curriculum developers, student organizations). The conversations serve to collect proven approaches and gain a differentiated picture of expectations, challenges, and questions around sustainability and ethics in teaching. You will support:
- Administrative support during the interviews
- Support with transcription and revision of transcripts
- Collection and categorization of best practices from the course catalog
- Support with literature research
- Revision of presentations
- Support in preparing workshops
Profile
- You are a bachelor’s or master’s student at a Swiss university
- You are interested in higher education and motivated to contribute to the integration of sustainability and ethics in education
- You work reliably, efficiently, and independently
- You have a "can-do" mentality and like to provide feedback from a student perspective
- You are proficient in MS Office
- You have already gained initial experience in qualitative research (through student assistant work, seminar or thesis)
- You have basic knowledge in transcribing interviews (with Nvivo or comparable software)
- You have a good understanding of the ETH course catalog
- You communicate confidently and precisely in German and English
