Senior System Engineer with Focus on Kubernetes / OpenShift

About the job

• Building, operating, and optimizing complex infrastructures with high requirements for availability, security, and performance
• Consulting, building, configuring, and operating Kubernetes or OpenShift environments
• Building and operating Postgres, Kafka, and MongoDB environments
• Consulting, building, and deploying microservices in the described context
• Participating in projects both in the conception and implementation of new solutions in close collaboration with ICT system architects, project managers, and customers
• Systems engineering activities in the respective specialist areas

• University of applied sciences, ETH, or university degree in computer science
• At least 5 years of professional experience in Linux systems engineering with solid knowledge in several of the following areas, preferably with corresponding certifications
• Analytical and interdisciplinary thinking skills
• Entrepreneurial, responsible, and quality-oriented actions, customer- and result-oriented
• High commitment and flexibility as well as willingness to learn new things
• Structured and goal-oriented approach
• Communicative, team- and conflict-capable personality with good assertiveness
  
  Mandatory expertise:
  • Linux and/or UNIX operating systems e.g. RedHat (or derivatives), Ubuntu, Debian
  • Container orchestration in the area of Kubernetes and OpenShift
  
   Desired expertise:
  • Orchestration and automation e.g. Ansible
  • Messaging platform experience e.g. Kafka
  • Server virtualization solutions e.g. VMware vSphere
  • Scripting e.g. Bash Shell, Perl
  • Server, storage, and backup systems
  • Additional expertise desired
    
    Advantageous:
    • Experience in regulated industries e.g. banking or payment.
    • Experience with cloud solutions such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP), or Microsoft Azure
