About the job

The Swiss School Foundation for Guide Dogs for the Blind in Allschwil BL has existed since 1972 and is financed by donations, legacies, and the Swiss Disability Insurance. It is responsible for the breeding, raising, and training of guide dogs for the blind, assistance and social dogs, and autism companion dogs. The infrastructure is modern and the training concept is of a high standard. We are looking for a dog caretaker 50% (m/f/d) to start immediately or by arrangement.
If you are interested in working with people and animals, are open-minded, flexible, and prudent, and have a hands-on personality, you should seize the opportunity and apply with us. Your tasks
- Care of dogs in training:

Coordination and supervision of the pack runs
Care and feeding
Playful basic obedience and activity work as well as walks
Organization and supervision of veterinary visits

Assistance in managing the feed storage
Day and evening shifts, overnight duty if needed (overnight stay on the school premises, usual working hours from 9:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. the following day) to care for the dogs

- Maintenance and cleaning work in the dog training building and in the runs
- Care of breeding bitches and puppies at the school if needed Your profile
- Completed basic training as an animal caretaker EFZ or veterinary practice assistant EFZ

Enjoy working with dogs and people
Appreciate and nurture teamwork
Very good physical and mental condition, manual skills
Driver's license category B
Very good German skills in spoken and written form
