The Pension Fund of the State of Fribourg is seeking an Accounting Manager for the operational management of the pension fund's accounting and to ensure the quality, reliability and compliance of financial transactions. In collaboration with the Head of Finance & Controlling, he/she contributes to the preparation of annual financial statements, monitors accounting activities and continuously improves processes. In his/her central role in the fund's accounting, he/she ensures compliance with applicable standards and actively participates in the pension fund's modernisation and digitalisation projects.

Your tasks
- Independent management and responsibility for the pension fund's accounting
- Coordination and execution of the annual financial statements
- Preparation of the annual accounts according to Swiss GAAP FER 26
- Organisation and active participation in the audit process
- Management of interface tools for accounting
- Liquidity management in collaboration with the Head of F&C
- Preparation of VAT reconciliation
- Supervision of an accounting assistant
- Contribution to the improvement of accounting processes and the internal control system
- Close cooperation with teams from the technical, real estate and asset departments
- Management of a document management system (DMS) and workflow for validating supplier invoices
- Participation in projects for the development and improvement of accounting tools
Your profile
- Advanced professional training (Certified Specialist in Finance and Accounting BP, Bachelor in Economics, University of Applied Sciences) or equivalent recognised training in accounting
- At least 5 years of professional experience in accounting, including proven experience in a leadership position
- Proven experience in occupational pension accounting is desirable
- Proactive, independent personality with strong team spirit
- Strong interest in social insurance, finance and real estate
- Excellent French skills with good German skills or vice versa
Your competencies
- Ability to shape and lead accounting and financial activities in close cooperation with the Head of Finance & Controlling
- Good knowledge of Swiss accounting standards for occupational pensions (Swiss GAAP FER 26), tax obligations and internal control
- Mastery of compliance challenges and active contribution to the internal control system
- Careful work to ensure reliability, accuracy and consistency of accounting and financial data
- Ability to prioritise, make decisions and structure accounting tasks in a demanding environment
- Analytical thinking to solve complex problems and quick understanding of existing processes
- Interest in digitalisation and automation of administrative and accounting processes
- Expertise in common accounting software and office applications, especially Excel (expert)
