Vice Principal 100%The Technical Vocational School Zurich TBZ is a centre of competence for basic and continuing education in the fields of automotive technology, information technology, electrical/electronics, event technology and optometry.
Over 3600 learners are taught by around 200 teachers.
Following retirement, we are looking for a Vice Principal from 1 March 2027 or by arrangement. As Vice Principal, you are part of the school management and support the Principal in the strategic, pedagogical and organisational leadership of the TBZ. You take on central responsibility in school and quality development as well as in overarching leadership and safety tasks: deputising for the Principal and participating in strategic school management.
Your tasks
- Deputising for the Principal and active participation in strategic school management
- Support for the Principal and departments including preparation, coordination and conduct of meetings (school management meetings, conferences, etc.)
- Responsibility for the staff appraisal process (implementation according to allocation list as well as maintenance and further development of the concept)
- Management and continuous development of quality management (Q-Team, Q-Concept, audits) as well as process and document management
- Responsibility for school certifications and evaluations (eduQua 2026, transition to ISO certification 2027, external school evaluation Zem-Ces)
- Responsibility for safety and emergency issues (SiBe, safety concept, evacuation drills, fire and amok prevention)
- Analysis of surveys, final class surveys and QV success rates as well as derivation of appropriate measures
- Management and support of projects and construction measures (including school construction, energy and infrastructure projects)
- Representation of the school in external committees and specialist working groups
- Participation in school development and innovation projects
- Teaching obligation of 10 lessons per week
Your profile
- Teaching diploma for vocational subjects in a full-time capacity or comparable qualification as well as several years of teaching and leadership experience
- Leadership experience in a larger organisation, ideally in the education or public sector
- Sound knowledge of school, organisational and quality development
- Experience in collaboration with teachers, leadership bodies and external partners
- Proven project management and conceptual skills
- Confident handling of digital work and management tools
- Integrative, team-oriented and strong leadership personality
- Strategic and networked thinking with a view to the overall development of the school
- Confident appearance, high communication and conflict resolution skills
- Structured, solution-oriented and resilient working style
- High sense of responsibility, discretion and loyalty
