For this journey, we are looking for an experienced, technically skilled individual who will both securely further develop our existing systems and drive innovations. In short: someone who will position cyon even better for the future on the software side.

Your tasks

• You will take responsibility for the development and further development of sophisticated software solutions and new features – from conception through implementation to successful go-live.
• You will ensure that functional and technical requirements are met and that our solutions impress in terms of performance, quality, and security.
• You will accompany the entire software lifecycle and ensure sustainable stability with clean code, meaningful tests, and clear documentation.
• Our systems have grown over many years. You will also take care of maintenance and targeted refactoring of our existing solutions, ensuring they remain reliable and future-proof, and drive their gradual modernisation forward with the team.
• With modern development and architectural approaches as well as the appropriate tools, you will bring structure, transparency, and efficiency to our software projects.
• You will use AI-supported tools productively in your daily development work and help integrate them sensibly and responsibly into our way of working.
• You will develop AI-based functions (ML and LLM features) for our products and processes – with a focus on real benefits for our customers, reliability, and data protection.
• You will handle exciting incidents and thus support our customers and internal support with technical problems.

What you bring with you

• Completed degree from a university of applied sciences or university in computer science or comparable qualification
• Several years of solid experience in PHP development, ideally also with Laravel and PHP 8.x
• Confident handling of relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and complex SQL queries
• Practical experience in designing and implementing RESTful APIs as well as integrating third-party APIs and external services
• Professional knowledge of JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3 as well as understanding of modern frontend paradigms and willingness to use them in the future
• Willingness and experience to co-develop existing legacy systems and gradually modernise them
• Experience and understanding of Infrastructure as Code and DevOps principles
• Practical experience with AI tools in daily development and with integrating machine learning or LLM-based features into production environments
• An open mindset towards AI, combined with the necessary respect: you handle AI consciously and critically, check its results, know its limits, and consider security and data protection from the outset
• Proficient in using Git and established branching strategies
• Independence, willingness to learn, and strong analytical skills
• Initiative and the ability to independently drive demanding software projects forward
• Very good German spoken and written as well as good English skills

What you ideally also bring

• Experience with at least one other programming language besides PHP and openness to polyglot architectures
• Experience in development with Elixir and the ecosystem (Phoenix, LiveView)
• Advanced knowledge of Python in the context of machine learning and LLM applications
• Experience with cloud-native architectures
• Practical experience with Docker and CI/CD pipelines
• Experience and enjoyment in migrating legacy applications to modern architectures
• Experience with agile development methods (Scrum, Kanban)
