Economist for the Public Transport Ordering Procedure

The Office of Energy and Transport is the cantonal centre of expertise for issues relating to the energy and public transport sectors. In the public transport sector, we are responsible for strategic planning and coordination of public transport throughout the Canton of Graubünden. We coordinate public transport with trains and buses and are responsible for the planning, design and implementation of projects for future-oriented public transport. A good connection to the national and international rail network as well as regular and frequent connections to regional transport and in agglomerations are of central importance for maintaining and developing the living, tourist and economic space of Graubünden.
For the Office of Energy and Transport, we are looking for an economist for the public transport ordering procedure starting 1 December 2026 or by agreement.
- Conducting the ordering procedure for regional public transport (TRV) for individual public transport companies (road and rail)
- Processing challenging economic and financial issues related to public transport
- Drafting service agreements with transport companies, accompanying and monitoring their implementation
- Developing complex strategic and conceptual issues concerning public transport in the Canton of Graubünden
- Responsibility for concluding target agreements with transport companies
- Representing the Canton of Graubünden in cantonal and national working groups in the public transport sector
- Enthusiasm for strong and economical public transport in the Canton of Graubünden
- University or university of applied sciences degree in economics or business economics
- Strong interest in strategic issues
- Experience in independently developing conceptual issues
- Knowledge of the public transport sector or a sector with the same level of complexity (e.g. energy economics or healthcare) is an advantage
- Structured and reliable working method with high personal responsibility and strong attention to quality
- Attitude for interdisciplinary collaboration, ability to assert oneself, negotiation skills and ability to engage with various interest groups
- Excellent command of the German language, both spoken and written
- Good knowledge of several cantonal languages is an advantage
