Clerk | Freight Forwarding Agent Air Freight Export (temporary)

Initial Situation

We are looking for a freight forwarding agent to temporarily support our client in the area of air freight export. You will work for a globally renowned forwarding company that has retained the character of a family business despite its size. The assignment is initially limited but may last until mid-2027. If there is mutual interest, there is also the possibility of permanent employment.

Tasks

• handling air freight shipments in export from A to Z
• organising collections and booking cargo space with airlines
• preparing and checking air freight and export documents
• coordinating with customers, airlines, handling agents and international partners
• monitoring cut-off times, flight schedules and shipment status
• processing customer enquiries and last-minute changes
• resolving irregularities in daily export business

Requirements

• completed training as a freight forwarding agent or comparable qualification
• professional experience in handling air freight export at a Swiss forwarding company
• good knowledge of operational processes in the Swiss air freight business
• independent, reliable and careful working style
• short-term availability or start date by arrangement

MS Office – good knowledge

Languages

German: good to very good knowledge
English: good written and spoken

Everyday life revolves largely around export: coordinating shipments, checking documents, finding solutions with airlines and customers, and ensuring everything is dispatched on time.
