Les Ambulances du Réseau de l'Arc SA carry out rescue and transfer missions across three sites, in the two cantons of Bern and Jura.

In this context, we are looking for a Chief Officer to manage a team of around 40 people and ensure the development of the service.

Job Description

• Strategy and Governance — participate in defining the institution's development strategies and maintain a functional relationship with the General Management
• Operational Management — organise and structure teams to achieve the objectives of the cantonal service contract and the Réseau de l’Arc; supervise planning, training and delegated medical acts
• Human Resources — develop an efficient, fair and participative HR management approach: recruitment, specifications, conflict management, team dynamics
• Quality — ensure the application of care quality standards
• Administrative and Financial Management — participate in budget preparation, validate purchases and investments within agreed limits
• Partnerships & Representation — represent the service with professional partners and cantonal authorities

Qualifications

Training:

• Professional Ambulance Technician ES qualification, or equivalent recognised qualification
• Management training in the health sector, or equivalent recognised qualification, or willingness to undertake it

Experience and Skills:

• 5 years of professional experience as an Ambulance Technician ES
• Several years of experience managing a rescue service
• Good knowledge of the cantonal and federal health system
• Ability to mobilise teams in participative management
• Communication skills, empathy and listening
• Autonomy and initiative
• Respect for institutional values and impeccable ethics

Your decision-making autonomy:

As Chief Officer, you will be responsible for setting starting salaries, awarding salary increases and bonuses, preparing investment requests, and validating invoices and training requests.
