About the job
Do you want to apply your expertise in geriatrics where it has a direct impact – in everyday care and in the further development of nursing practice? As a Geriatric Specialist, you strengthen evidence-based, person-centred care. You support teams professionally, promote clinical thinking, and actively contribute to the quality of care and support.
You advise and support staff with complex nursing issues and enhance their knowledge through bedside teaching, case discussions, and training. You provide advice to residents and relatives, especially in complex therapy decisions.
Furthermore, you assist the team during medical rounds, new admissions, and difficult care situations. You are responsible for implementing care concepts in daily practice.
In addition, you are responsible for the professional use of nursing documentation, keeping care plans up to date and thus ensuring high-quality care. You train and support staff in the correct handling of nursing documentation.
In your role, you work across locations and contribute to the further development and standardisation of medical-nursing processes, treatment, and professional standards.
You can expect a professionally demanding specialist role with great scope for creativity and direct influence on the quality of care and support. You work closely with nursing management, team leaders, and interprofessional teams and actively participate in quality and practice development projects.
You will find a committed team open to innovative roles and new approaches in nursing practice. Together, you shape the further development of geriatric care. The role of the Geriatric Specialist is also evolving – and you have the opportunity to actively help shape and influence it professionally.
