The Head of Product Development (m/f/d) should be an entrepreneurial-thinking innovation driver who consistently pushes new ideas forward and successfully implements them.
The position combines responsibility, operational product development and international customer orientation.
For the succession at the Sargans site, we are looking for a Head of Product Development (m/f/d) 100% to start immediately or by arrangement.
Tasks
- Independent development and optimisation of sophisticated food products: recipe development, sample creation, ensuring technical feasibility up to series maturity
- Understanding customer requirements, proactively offering innovations, managing development projects and presenting products convincingly
- Close collaboration with production, quality assurance, purchasing and sales and promoting constructive cooperation
- Recipe optimisation regarding quality, costs, raw material availability and industrial manufacturability
- Further development and standardisation of development processes, recipe documentation and work instructions
- Professional and disciplinary leadership of a product development team with different product and technology competencies
- Prioritising development resources and making decisions with regard to customer benefit, economic efficiency and market success
- Conducting sensory panels
Profile
- Completed studies in food technology, food sciences or a comparable field (FH, ETH, university). Alternatively, a higher vocational training (HF) with corresponding professional and leadership experience
- Several years of solid experience in industrial food development, ideally with different product groups and manufacturing processes
- Proven successes in the development and market launch of products for the food retail trade or international industrial customers
- Very good knowledge in recipe development, raw material functionality and industrial production processes
- Experience in technical and commercial cooperation with demanding major customers
- Entrepreneurial thinking, enthusiasm for innovation and passion for food, market trends and new technologies.
- Structured, solution-oriented and result-oriented working style with high personal responsibility and implementation strength.
- Confident English in spoken and written form
