About the job
We are looking for an experienced and committed individual who, together with the board of the Oberwalliser Kinderhilfswerk (OKHW) association and the management team of the children’s village, takes responsibility for the sustainable development of our institution for 170 children and young people with special educational needs.
Your tasks
You will take on the operational overall management of the Leuk children’s village and lead the institution with its various departments and professional groups. In doing so, you ensure a clear direction, reliable collaboration, and a high level of professional quality.
Your main tasks include:
- Leading the entire institution
- Implementing the strategic guidelines of the association
- Further developing offers, concepts, and structures
- Responsibility for personnel, finances, and resources
- Ensuring and further developing quality
- Promoting constructive and interdisciplinary collaboration
- Supporting and accompanying change and development processes
- Representing the institution to authorities, specialist offices, partner organisations, and the public
- Ensuring an open, reliable, and appreciative communication and leadership culture
Your profile
You have:
- a recognised qualification in the educational, social, or psychological field
- a DAS in institutional management, an equivalent recognised qualification, or you are willing to complete one

- has experience in leading a complex organisation
- thinks strategically and practically at the same time
- leads employees clearly, appreciatively, and participatively
- takes responsibility and remains decisive even in demanding situations
- possesses very good communication and social skills
- actively and prudently shapes change processes
- enjoys interdisciplinary collaboration
- has a good understanding of business management contexts
- has good knowledge of the French language
- works confidently with authorities and offices and is familiar with the structures of the Canton of Valais
- identifies with the mission and values of the children’s village
