Context
The University Hospital of Vaud (CHUV) is one of the five Swiss university hospitals and ranks among the best hospital institutions worldwide according to the Newsweek 2025 ranking. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, it plays a leading role in care, research, and education.
Attached to the Hospital Logistics Department (DLOH), the Sterilization and Disinfection Center provides sterile and functional products to all CHUV services, affiliated institutions, and external clients. Certified ISO 13485, it is a reference for the reprocessing of medical devices and participates in the training and information of healthcare professionals.
Mission
- You reprocess medical devices in compliance with quality and institutional guidelines (pre-disinfection, washing, disinfection, control, assembly/packaging, sterilization, storage)
- You perform tasks related to all stages of the process and manage priorities (planned flow/emergencies)
- You identify the material, label it, and ensure its traceability in dedicated systems
- You carry out routine checks on equipment (e.g., autoclaves, washer-disinfectors), detect non-conformities, and apply required actions
- You strictly apply safety, hygiene rules, regulatory dress code, and hand disinfection
- You collaborate with operating room teams and care units to ensure sterile, functional devices delivered on time.
Profile
- You have completed your compulsory schooling
- You demonstrate autonomy, rigor, and precision
- You have analytical skills and can adapt to technical evolution
- You enjoy working in a team and communicate clearly
- Assets: high sense of hygiene, attention to detail, manual dexterity, ease with traceability IT tools, endurance (standing, wearing PPE)
