The St. Antonius Appenzell Grammar School (www.gymnasium.ai.ch) operates as a cantonal secondary school with a federally recognised Matura, offering lower and upper secondary education. Around 250 pupils are taught at this traditional, humanistically oriented school.

At the start of the 2027/28 school year (1 August 2027), we are looking for a teacher for Philosophy / Religion and Ethics.

Your tasks

• Teaching in the subject area of Philosophy within the major subject Philosophy/Psychology/Education
• Teaching the cantonal compulsory subject Religion and Ethics
• Collaboration in the subject department as well as in teaching and school development projects
• With appropriate qualifications, additional tasks in the area of school chaplaincy could be taken on

Your profile

• Completed university Master’s degree in Philosophy
• Teaching diploma for grammar schools or in training
• Possibly an additional completed university Master’s degree in Theology
• Proven professional as well as pedagogical and didactic competencies and strong social skills in dealing with young people
• Enjoyment of teaching at a grammar school with a family atmosphere
