Head of Financial Accounting 80-100%

Your area of responsibility:

• Financial accounting & general ledger: You manage the financial accounting and general ledger for the SHV, its companies and regional associations, ensuring correct and timely postings.
• Quarterly and annual financial statements: You independently prepare the financial statements for four companies and seven regional associations according to Swiss GAAP FER.
• Day-to-day business & controls: You handle accounts payable, accounts receivable, payment transactions, VAT and payroll accounting, undertake complex postings and account reconciliations, and ensure deputising.
• Budget & planning: You prepare the overall budget and forecast and manage ongoing liquidity planning.
• Taxes & audit: You prepare or coordinate tax returns and VAT declarations, prepare for audits and collaborate with external specialists.
• Team & processes: You lead the finance employee, regulate responsibilities and controls, and pragmatically develop the accounting processes further.

In this position, you ensure that our finances are managed professionally, transparently and proactively. You work closely with the figures, manage the general ledger and prepare the financial statements yourself. Together with the finance employee, you ensure that processes, controls and deadlines function reliably.

Your profile:

• Further training in finance and accounting, ideally a federal diploma or an equivalent qualification

• Several years of practical experience in financial accounting and independently managing a general ledger

• Confidence in monthly and annual financial statements; experience with Swiss GAAP FER is an advantage

• Good knowledge of VAT, taxes and payroll accounting as well as dealing with an audit firm

• Precise and independent working style and a high sense of responsibility

You work with focus and reliability and keep an overview even in hectic times. You want to manage the financial accounting yourself and appreciate working in a small team with short communication lines. You explain financial contexts clearly, address risks early and consciously delegate responsibility. Very good German skills are required; French skills are a plus.
