About the job
Would you like to work as an MPA in a colourful, diverse and inclusive environment? For our MPA team, we are looking for you, a committed and solution-oriented person, by arrangement.
Checkpoint Zurich is a health centre for queer people and one of the largest in Switzerland for HIV, sexually transmitted infections and sexual health. With us, you can expect not only a meaningful activity right in the heart of Zurich, directly at the main station, but also a working environment that lives diversity and inclusion. You benefit from 6 weeks of holiday, 30 minutes of paid break daily and above-average benefits with the pension fund. Above all, you will find a place with us where you can be who you are – and use your work to promote an open and colourful diversity.
Checkpoint Zurich is a non-profit organisation with a special focus on public health. With around 30 employees, it is one of the largest health centres in Switzerland for men who have sex with men, trans people and other queer people as well as all people who are open to our community. We offer comprehensive treatment in the fields of infectiology, general internal medicine, psychiatry and psychotherapy. Our services cover prevention, counselling, testing and treatment. In addition, various campaigns, mobile testing and events are carried out. We accompany our clients respectfully and on an equal footing.
Your tasks:
- First point of contact at reception: You personally look after our clients, ensure efficient triage and organise appointments in the interdisciplinary team.
- Administrative support: You provide administrative support to counsellors and doctors and process medical documents.
- Co-responsibility in practice operations: You take co-responsibility for billing, medication management and smooth practice operations.
- Medical activities: Blood sampling and vaccinations are part of the daily tasks, while ECG, lung function tests, infusions and blood pressure measurements occur only very rarely.
We would also like to point out that our area of activity is not comparable to a classic general practice and, for example, no X-rays are performed with us.
- Rotating deployment: You will be deployed on a rotating basis in various areas (reception, laboratory, blood sampling, floater) and actively shape workflows and processes.
What you bring:
- Training: You have completed training as a medical practice assistant EFZ or a similar training in healthcare, ideally complemented by professional experience.
- Motivation: You have a strong interest in the health of LGBT people and meet all life realities with high acceptance.
- Personality: You are resilient and flexible, have strong communication skills and good English skills.
- Flexibility in working hours: You are willing to work evenings as well as about 2–3 times a month on a weekend day (1.30 pm to approx. 6.00 pm) and enjoy direct contact with a diverse, colourful clientele.
What you can expect from us:
- Unique working environment: Become part of a colourful, dynamic team at Checkpoint Zurich with exciting tasks in client care.
- Flexible working hours: We offer you a 41-hour week with flexible working hours as well as part-time options.
- Generous holidays: You benefit from 6 weeks of holiday per year (7 weeks from age 50).
- Central location: Your workplace is centrally located directly at Zurich main station.
- Strong team: Become part of a team that supports you and moves great things together with you.
- Further information about our benefits can be found here.
