Head of Department Social Work and Mandates at kjz Bülach 80%Good for life – that is our motto. The Office for Youth and Career Counseling (AJB) is responsible for child and youth welfare, informing, advising, and supporting the population of the canton of Zurich on topics related to family, career, and professional development. It provides various services decentrally in different child and youth welfare centers (kjz) and career information centers (biz). The kjz (Child and Youth Welfare Center) is a polyvalent counseling center for families, parents, adolescents, children, and toddlers and operates based on the Child and Youth Welfare Act of the canton of Zurich.
For the Department of Social Work and Mandates at kjz Bülach, we are looking for a head (80%) starting August 1, 2026, or by agreement.
Your tasks:
You lead a committed team of 10 social workers and shape a sustainable team culture. In your role as a professional sparring partner, you support your team in challenging case constellations and ensure the quality of casework. At the same time, you are responsible for the professional and personnel management of your department and actively shape its further development. Within the strategic framework of the AJB, you independently set priorities and contribute your professional perspective to higher-level decisions.
You bring:
- A university of applied sciences degree in social work or equivalent qualification (mandatory requirement)
- Solid experience in child protection
- Leadership experience or willingness to complete leadership training
- Enjoyment in coaching and promoting employees
- Excellent communication skills and high social competence
- Decisive, resilient, and assertive personality
