About the job
Kantonsschule Zimmerberg
Polymechanic 50 - 70%
The Kantonsschule Zimmerberg in Au ZH was newly opened in August 2020. In its upcoming seventh year of operation, it is expected to have 25 classes with a total of around 600 pupils. It offers a long and a short grammar school with five Matura profiles (classical languages, modern languages, mathematical-scientific, economic-legal, as well as philosophical-pedagogical-psychological). In the young, manageable cantonal school, personal contact and the individual are central.
From 1 January 2027 or by arrangement, we are looking for support in the laboratory to complement the team.
Tasks
Your tasks include preparing and setting up physical experiments for lessons on behalf of the teachers. You document the experiments, manage the required materials, and contribute your expertise to the further development of the experiments. You maintain the subject-specific collection and the specialist library. You service the equipment as independently as possible, for example by carrying out minor repairs yourself, and assist in the development of new experiments. Completing general administrative tasks for the subject group rounds off your area of responsibility. At our school, close cooperation between the physics, biology and chemistry subject groups is central. The scientific laboratory staff regularly exchange information and thus ensure mutual representation.
Profile
You have training as a Polymechanic EFZ or Physics Laboratory Technician EFZ or an alternative basic education. As a contact person for our science teachers, you have a competent, motivated demeanour as well as good written and oral communication skills. The broad range of tasks and the lively environment require a high degree of flexibility and personal responsibility. We are looking for an independent thinking and working personality who contributes themselves and their ideas.
Offer
We offer you an interesting working day in an extraordinary environment of a school with modern infrastructure, a large scope for design in your work as well as contemporary employment conditions according to cantonal guidelines. In agreement with the subject heads and the Head of Central Services, your working hours during the school term may correspond to a higher percentage, while you compensate the already worked hours during the school holidays.
Application
Have we aroused your interest? We look forward to your application. Please submit your documents exclusively via the application tool. For information, our Head of Central Services, Doris Stoller, Tel. 043 783 11 11, E-mail doris.stoller@kszi.ch, is happy to assist.
