City Green Winterthur plans, maintains and manages the green and open spaces, the forest, the Bruderhaus wildlife park, the five cemeteries as well as the crematorium of the garden city Winterthur. Our services are central to the quality of the garden city Winterthur as a residential and business location.The main department Settlement Green, with its 70 employees, is responsible for the maintenance of the public green spaces of the city of Winterthur. The tree stock of the city of Winterthur on public land comprises over 16,000 trees, which are maintained and cared for by City Green Winterthur.
To fulfil these important and diverse tasks, we are looking for a committed, dedicated person with organisational talent. Tree Care Specialist (60-100 %)
Your Tasks
- Maintain and preserve the old tree stock of the city of Winterthur
- Inspect and maintain the assigned tree stock to ensure traffic safety
- Carry out tree assessments and determine the necessary measures based on rational aspects
- Plan and execute sustainable tree care according to the latest state of technology and expertise
- Direct contact person for districts, customers and third parties for specialist questions concerning tree care
Your Profile
- Completed training as a tree care specialist with a federal certificate, tree caretaker BSB or equivalent qualification
- Several years of professional experience in tree care/tree inspection, in horticultural maintenance as well as sound knowledge of shrubs and plants
- Independence, sense of responsibility, reliability and service orientation
- Physically resilient and not afraid of heights
- Driving licence category BE, MS Office skills as well as confident handling of digital tools, experience with tree cadastre programmes an advantage
