Your Tasks and Prospects

• You clean, disinfect and sterilise surgical instruments as well as devices for diagnosis and patient care
• You learn to operate the cleaning and disinfection devices (CDD) and contribute to the safety of medical procedures
• You are responsible for checking and ensuring the proper functioning of the surgical instruments
• You assemble medical devices into sets, check, pack and sterilise them using special procedures that you will learn with us
• Your work also includes operating various IT systems

What You Bring to This Position

• You have successfully completed compulsory schooling by the start of the apprenticeship
• You have dexterous hands and enjoy working extremely carefully and precisely
• You are physically resilient
• The safety of our patients as well as the associated hygiene and order are important to you
• Irregular working hours are not a problem for you
• You must not have any problems with colour recognition for the work

• You will complete your training in one of the largest central sterile supply departments in Europe
• The central sterile supply department is responsible for the entire canton of St. Gallen. Therefore, you can look forward to a very varied working day
• You will get to know a wide variety of surgical instruments from all specialist disciplines such as orthopaedic surgery, gynaecology, neurosurgery, ophthalmology, ear-nose-throat clinic, etc.
• You will receive financial support for the cost of your school materials
• You may attend internal training courses and information events
