Product Development Engineer (Senior)

Thömus is looking for an experienced mechanical engineer who takes responsibility for the development of high-performance products and actively shapes innovation, who independently manages development projects – from the concept phase to series maturity – and ensures that technical excellence, quality and deadlines are met, taking a key role within an interdisciplinary team.

Your tasks – you make a difference:

• Management of product development projects (e- and bio bikes, accessories)
• Definition, evaluation and further development of technical requirements
• Design and development of components and assemblies in 3D (SolidWorks or comparable)
• Development of innovative technical solutions
• Control of all project phases: design, prototyping, testing, industrialisation
• Ensuring deadlines, costs and quality standards
• Close collaboration with industrial design, production and marketing
• Technical leadership and structuring of projects
• Communication with suppliers and conducting on-site visits
• Support of production and marketing teams with technical know-how

Your profile – what you bring:

• Passion for bicycles
• Completed studies in mechanical engineering
• At least 3 years of professional experience in product development in the bike industry
• Very good English skills
• Basic knowledge of German (highly recommended)
• Very good skills in 3D CAD (SolidWorks advantageous)
• Experience with simulation tools (advantageous)
• Solid knowledge of fibre composite materials
• Very good understanding of manufacturing processes and quality requirements
• Experience in project management
• Strong sense of responsibility and ownership mindset
• Ability to manage projects in a dynamic environment
• Structured, solution-oriented and goal-focused working style
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• High degree of independence and initiative
• Willingness to travel
