Thömus has stood for Swiss engineering, innovation and passion for cycling for over 30 years. From the first design to final assembly, we build our bikes in Switzerland – individually, with high quality and great attention to detail.
Thömus is looking for an experienced mechanical engineer who takes responsibility for the development of high-performance products and actively shapes innovation, who independently manages development projects – from the concept phase to series maturity – and ensures that technical excellence, quality and deadlines are met, taking a key role within an interdisciplinary team.
Your tasks – you make a difference:
- Management of product development projects (e- and bio bikes, accessories)
- Definition, evaluation and further development of technical requirements
- Design and development of components and assemblies in 3D (SolidWorks or comparable)
- Development of innovative technical solutions
- Control of all project phases: design, prototyping, testing, industrialisation
- Ensuring deadlines, costs and quality standards
- Close collaboration with industrial design, production and marketing
- Technical leadership and structuring of projects
- Communication with suppliers and conducting on-site visits
- Support of production and marketing teams with technical know-how
Your profile – what you bring:
- Passion for bicycles
- Completed studies in mechanical engineering
- At least 3 years of professional experience in product development in the bike industry
- Very good English skills
- Basic knowledge of German (highly recommended)
- Very good skills in 3D CAD (SolidWorks advantageous)
- Experience with simulation tools (advantageous)
- Solid knowledge of fibre composite materials
- Very good understanding of manufacturing processes and quality requirements
- Experience in project management
- Strong sense of responsibility and ownership mindset
- Ability to manage projects in a dynamic environment
- Structured, solution-oriented and goal-focused working style
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- High degree of independence and initiative
- Willingness to travel
