Where Numbers Meet People - Tax Commissioner 80 - 100%About 750 employees work in the tax office of the canton of Zurich and ensure at the Zurich Altstetten location that taxes are assessed and collected correctly and uniformly. A task that is more versatile than you might think.
Because behind every tax return there is more than just a number. It is about people, their stories, and connections that need to be understood. This requires a clear mind – maybe exactly yours? And this is where you come into play – as a tax commissioner in the private individuals area of the Zurich South department. You deepen your knowledge in tax law or start anew, analyze facts, and bring structure to complex topics. Step by step, you develop a feel for the tax system.
You are not alone in this. Your team supports you from day one, assists you in everyday life, and gladly shares its knowledge with you. Curiosity is the best prerequisite for the entry, which takes place by arrangement and coordinated with our internal training start.
Your area of responsibility:
- Examination and assessment of tax returns from employees and self-employed persons
- Answering tax-related questions in writing, by phone, or in personal conversations
- Professional contact person for municipal tax offices
- Examination of objections and in-depth clarification of open issues
- Participation in audit procedures
- Support in appeal procedures and representation of the state in corresponding proceedings
Your profile:
- A completed bachelor's degree, ideally in business administration or law, or a higher professional qualification in finance and accounting, fiduciary, or as a business economist HF
- Interest in tax issues and initial insights into the finance or tax area are an advantage
- Interest in understanding complex topics and making independent decisions
- A structured, independent way of working and enjoyment in taking responsibility
- Very good German skills in spoken and written form (C2)
