The Restaurant Volkshaus Zürich combines traditional cuisine with modern influences – honestly, authentically, and passionately prepared. Most of our ingredients come from organic production. In a stylish atmosphere with 260 seats, history and present meet – right in the heart of Zurich.
Thanks to regular concerts, events, seminars, and banquets, the Volkshaus is a lively place with over 2,500 events annually and around 2,000 event seats – and one of the city's most important meeting points.
What to expect
You will take on an important dual role in the house:
On the one hand as cellar master, on the other as buffet attendant in daily operations.
Your tasks in the cellar area
- You are the central contact point for bar, restaurant, kitchen, and event team
- You independently coordinate and carry out orders
- You check goods receipts and deliveries as well as delivery notes
- You store drinks and materials properly
- You keep an overview of empties, containers, and inventory
- You prepare drinks for bar, restaurant, and staff
- You ensure order and cleanliness in the cellar and disposal rooms
- You take care of the maintenance and servicing of disposal equipment
Your tasks in the buffet area
- You distribute drinks to the service team during the shift
- You ensure a complete and clean mise en place at the drink buffet
- You clean and maintain your work area
- You always work according to hygiene and quality standards
What you bring with you
- Good German language skills
- Experience in gastronomy, ideally in a comparable position
- Independent, responsible, and organized working style
- Technical understanding and enjoyment of a varied daily routine
- Resilience and team spirit
- Good computer skills (MS Office)
