Assistant Physician at the Liaison Psychiatry Unit
On the occasion of the next rotation, the Department of Psychiatry is looking for assistant physicians for the liaison psychiatry units of the Northern Adult Psychiatry and Psychotherapy Service (SPPAN), located at the hospitals of Payerne and Yverdon-les-Bains, at 80%-100%, starting May 1, 2026.
Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the 5 Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, CHUV plays a leading role in medical care, medical research, and education.
The Liaison Psychiatry Unit (UPL) is recognized as a postgraduate training site in psychiatry and psychotherapy (category A) as well as for the entire advanced training in consultation and liaison psychiatry.
The UPL's mission is to provide consultation-liaison activities (adult and elderly patients) in the main somatic hospitals of Northern Vaud: the eHnv of Yverdon-les-Bains, St-Loup and Orbe, the intercantonal hospital of Broye in Payerne, and the acute care hospital of Ste-Croix. The UPL is also heavily involved in the cantonal emergency response (mandate from the General Directorate of Health).
Mission
- You will be responsible for the primary psychiatric and interdisciplinary care of hospitalized or outpatient patients at the Intercantonal Hospital of Broye (HIB), Payerne site, particularly within the framework of the regional emergency response mandate in Broye (RAUB) or at the eHnv.
- You will be responsible for drafting various clinical and administrative documents.
- You will participate in training activities provided within the framework of UPL/SPPAN/DP-CHUV.
- You will participate in the hospital on-call rotation at the Northern Vaud Psychiatry Center (CPNVD).
Profile
- You hold a medical degree or a title recognized by the Federal Commission of Medical Professions (MEBEKO)
- You are able to work in a multidisciplinary team
- You have an interest in teaching and knowledge transfer
- You have a strong interest in the psychosomatic dimension
- You have at least a B2 level mastery of French (certificate required for non-French speakers).
