Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the five Swiss university hospitals and ranks among the best hospital institutions worldwide according to the Newsweek 2025 ranking. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, it plays a leading role in care, research, and education.
We are looking for apprentices for the following departments:
Psychiatry Department (2 positions): It cares for people of all ages suffering from mental disorders. The care provided by all our teams is personalized and based on strong interprofessional collaboration. This care can be delivered in various contexts through specialized programs.
Musculoskeletal Department (1 position): It includes, among others, the Rheumatology, Orthopedics, Traumatology, and Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Services. It manages pathologies related to the skeleton, tendons, and joints.
Clinical Neurosciences Department (1 position): It includes the Neurosurgery, Neurology, Neurorehabilitation, and Spinal Surgery services. It offers integrated and personalized care to patients suffering from diseases of the central and peripheral nervous system, from the brain to the muscle.
Medicine Department (3 positions): It brings together the expertise of 13 medical specialties. It has solid expertise in managing patients with multiple and complex conditions.
Surgery and Heart-Vessels Department (2 positions): It includes services such as visceral surgery, thoracic surgery, ENT, urology, etc. It is associated with the Heart-Vessels Department, which works to provide personalized care to patients suffering from heart and vessel diseases.
Mission
- You work closely with the care team to ensure quality patient care
- You professionally assist patients in daily life activities, ensuring their comfort and well-being (help with washing, dressing, feeding, etc.)
- You perform administrative and logistical tasks, such as updating patient records
- You contribute to maintaining hygiene and organizing care areas, ensuring a clean and safe environment for patients
- You participate in prevention and health promotion activities with patients.
Profile
- You have obtained the compulsory schooling certificate
- You have reached the legal age of 18 (possibility to start from 16, with prior internships)
- You master basic mathematics (general pathway level 2) and French (level B2) and are ready to take a test if needed to verify your skills
- You have a strong interest in health and the well-being of people
- You are comfortable in human contacts and know how to show empathy and active listening
- You have proven ability to work in a team and demonstrate collaboration, while being able to work independently
- You are organized, rigorous, and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, even in stressful environments.
