Contaminated Sites Specialist
Third-party funded, fixed-term position, attached to the Office for Nature and Environment | 60–80 % | Chur
We are looking to support the Office for Nature and Environment from 1 November 2026 or by arrangement with a specialist in contaminated sites. This is a position co-financed by federal funds, expected to be fixed-term for 9 years.
Your area of responsibility
- You will support the persons responsible for contaminated sites.
- Your tasks include coordinating the various steps in the contaminated sites procedure. This includes writing statements, preparing remediation orders, determining loss costs and applying for VASA compensations.
- As part of your work, you will also maintain subject-related, direct contact with administrative offices of the federal government, cantons and municipalities, professional associations as well as companies and private individuals.
What we expect from you
- You have a university or university of applied sciences degree in a scientific field or an equivalent qualification and preferably several years of professional experience in the contaminated sites sector.
- You have experience with databases and Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
- You are accustomed to customer contact and maintain a respectful approach with stakeholders.
- You can assert yourself and remain calm and composed in conflict situations.
- You are characterised by organisational and communicative skills within a team and are an initiative and entrepreneurial-minded person with a high level of commitment.
- Your German language skills are confident in both spoken and written form. Good knowledge of several cantonal languages is an advantage.
