The Department of Social Sciences at the University of Basel is looking for an administrative employee at the Gender Studies division starting 1 October 2025 or by arrangement.
Your tasks
You will manage the Gender Studies office and be responsible for the administration of the subject in research and teaching. This includes, in particular, internal and external communication within the subject, administrative organization of the subject including personnel coordination, internal handling of IT interfaces, as well as accounting for the subject's finances and associated research projects.
Your profile
You are very well organized, work independently and proactively. You also communicate reliably and proactively, have networking skills, are resilient in complex situations, and have creative solutions ready.
You have a commercial or comparable education, write and speak fluent German and English. Experience in a coordinating or assistant position as well as knowledge in science management and/or coordination of research, especially university structures and processes, is desired.
You work reliably, efficiently, and are confident in using common office programs, modern social media channels, and content management programs. Since the administrative workload is closely tied to the university semester cycle, you enjoy working with independent work and time management.
