PH Zurich actively shapes education, school, and teaching of today and tomorrow in teaching and research. The Primary Level Department is responsible for the training of primary school teachers. It currently offers three bachelor's degree programs as well as subject and level extensions that provide fundamental competencies for teaching at the primary level.
Practical professional training is a core element of the studies for prospective teachers. From the first weeks of study, students gain insights into the professional everyday life at public schools in the canton of Zurich and gradually take on more responsibility in designing lessons throughout their studies. PH Zurich and the school field pursue a common goal. They train teachers who perform well in the complex system "school." What you will do.
- Lateral leadership of a team of practice teachers at the cooperation school including quality development and assurance
- Acquisition, organization, and administration of practice placements as well as budget management
- Communication and coordination between the cooperation school and PH Zurich
- Building and maintaining a network with university representatives, school administrations, school authorities, and practice teachers at your own cooperation school
- Co-design of practical professional training at the cooperation school (exchange, further training, quality assurance) as an expert in school practice, together with mentors
- Participation in and organization of events at the cooperation school and at PH Zurich
What you bring with you.
- Employment as a teacher in the school communities of Neftenbach, Pfungen, or Dättlikon mandatory
- Several years of experience as a teacher at the target level and as a practice teacher
- Strong anchoring and networking within the staff at the schools belonging to the cooperation school
- Good organizational skills
- Flexible and constructive handling of various role expectations
- High resilience, flexibility, and enthusiasm for innovation
- Willingness and ability to communicate, especially proficiency in conducting conversations even in conflict situations
- Willingness to further qualify for this role
