Medical-Technical Assistants in Sterilisation
The sterilisation centre of the CHUV is looking for two medical-technical assistants in sterilisation with a workload between 80% and 100% (permanent contract). The starting date is scheduled for 1 October 2026 or to be agreed.
Context
The University Hospital of Vaud (CHUV) is one of the 5 Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, the CHUV plays a leading role in medical care, medical research and education.
The Hospital Logistics Department (LOH) is responsible for ensuring that care, teaching and research units can fully focus on their core business by providing and developing efficient logistical operational services (disinfection and maintenance, patient transfers, sterilisation, catering, goods transport, stock management, etc.).
The sterilisation centre is attached to the Hospital Logistics of the CHUV. Its main mission is to provide sterile and functional products to all user services of the CHUV, affiliated institutions and external clients. Certified ISO 13485, it is a reference in the field of medical device reprocessing for other services and for external sterilisation. In this context, it provides training and information to the various health professionals concerned.
Mission
- You are responsible for the reprocessing activities of medical devices (MDx) in compliance with quality standards and current procedures
- You are responsible for checking the proper functioning of equipment and reporting malfunctions
- You collaborate in the evaluation of the functionality and safety of MDx
- You are responsible for verifying the functionality and safety of medical devices
- You are responsible for cleaning, maintenance and self-checking of the equipment provided.
Profile
- You show a keen interest in the paramedical and hospital field
- You have some experience in sterilisation, an advantage
- You enjoy working with technical equipment and demonstrate manual dexterity
- You appreciate teamwork, are precise, meticulous, methodical, adaptable and have a strong sense of responsibility
- You have good knowledge of the French language, level B2 required
- You master common office tools and production software
- You are ready to work in a demanding environment (noise, heavy lifting, confined spaces)
- You are willing to work variable hours, mornings, evenings (until 10pm), weekends and public holidays.
