The SVGW is the national professional organisation for water, gas and heat supply in Switzerland and contributes with its guidelines, vocational training, the exercise of state-relieving supervisory tasks, consulting services as well as the certification of products, companies and persons to the safe and sustainable supply of drinking water, gas and heat.

Inspector for Pipelines and Gas Networks

Your challenge

• Technical inspection of gas systems
• Review and assessment of technical documents, work processes, etc.
• Technical gas advice, issuing instructions and information
• Participation in the maintenance and further development of the regulatory framework
• Focus: Support of gas networks and network operators within the scope of cantonal supervision according to Swiss pipeline legislation as well as support of special pipeline projects such as hydrogen pipelines or CO2 pipelines
• Participation in the inspection and assessment of production and feed-in plants for renewable gases (biogas plants, hydrogen plants, methanation, etc.)
• Participation in the organisation and implementation of courses and conferences

Your competence

• Completed engineering degree specialising in energy technology, plant engineering or comparable
• Experience in project management of gas networks
• Additional experience in energy technology/plant engineering is an advantage
• Good understanding of guidelines and standards
• Ability to formulate technical matters precisely in German
• Flair for advisory and training tasks
• Enjoyment in dealing with people
• Knowledge of Italian, French and English is an advantage
