Section Head Planning in the Forest
As section head, you and your team shape the future of the Zurich forest. Through forward-looking planning, you create the basis for sustainable care and responsible management.
Your tasks
- Lead the forest planning section and develop strategies and concepts for forest planning and forestry information systems
- Prepare cantonal forest information (mapping, inventories, geo- and remote sensing data, GIS toolboxes) into usable planning products (plans, geo-services, evaluations)
- Lead and coordinate projects in the forest planning area and actively participate in cantonal and nationwide working groups and committees
- Advise forest districts on operational plans including quality assurance, assessment, and payment of subsidy applications
- Operate and further develop the forestry information system to ensure future-oriented planning, documentation, and subsidy support
Your profile
- University degree in forestry or a comparable field as well as several years of professional and leadership experience
- Solid knowledge in geographic information processing as well as experience in GIS applications (ESRI environment) and data modeling
- Strong planning and project management skills to successfully implement complex projects
- Excellent communication skills and confident appearance in interdisciplinary teams
- Empathetic and goal-oriented leadership personality who shows initiative and motivates employees
