The Pool and Ice Facilities department, with around 350 employees, is responsible for the operation of approximately 21 indoor and outdoor pools as well as two ice facilities. The Maintenance and Safety department ensures the technically flawless and safe operation of these facilities.
For the Maintenance and Safety department, we are looking for a committed and independent individual as a Specialist in Electrical Pool Technology and Ice Facilities starting 1 January 2027 or by arrangement.
Tasks
- You maintain the pool water treatment systems of your assigned indoor and outdoor pools and initiate appropriate measures if necessary.
- You are professionally responsible for the electrical installations and controls of the pool and ice facilities and independently resolve technical faults.
- You maintain and repair ventilation, heating, sanitary and other building technical installations in the indoor pools, outdoor pools and ice facilities.
- You train and instruct the pool staff in technical and safety-relevant areas such as pool water technology/chemistry.
- You provide on-call service during the bathing season according to the on-call regulations.
Profile
- Basic technical training as an electrical installer with a company electrician permit according to Art. 13 NIV or willingness to obtain it
- Professional certification for the disinfection of pool water in community pools (VFB_DB) or willingness to obtain it
- Experience in pool water, ice or building technology as well as good knowledge of MS 365
- Driving licence at least category B
- Independent and reliable working style with a strong service orientation and good communication skills in spoken and written form

The Sports Office is a service department of the School and Sports Department of the City of Zurich. It is the competence centre for sports promotion and provides facilities for the active sporting population and clubs, sports facilities as well as indoor and outdoor pools. The organisation of compulsory swimming lessons and voluntary school sports are also core tasks of the Sports Office. Through targeted information, the Sports Office motivates more physical activity and advises and supports sports organisations.
